Character Sheets for Secondary Characters Empty Character Sheets for Secondary Characters

Post  Seth Ruggeri Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:40 pm

A while back we tossed around the idea of creating character sheets for some of our minor casts members and secondary characters. I'd still like do this, however I'm trying to devise a way to divide the primary and secondary character sheets to avoid clutter. I've tested a few different board splits in "The Cast" section but nothing has come out quite right yet. In the mean time, I'd like to get a list of our secondary cast started so in the near future I have some material to test the board split with.

So far we have...

Pearse's Indian Companion
Saul
Bartender Tom
Bloomer
Moira Breckenhill
Flora Ruggeri
Rosa Ruggeri
Woodrow M. Millard
Andrew Millard
Dusty Magoon
George States aka "Two Cents"
Geoffrey States
Laney
Alan Grady
Enna Bates
Colette Sullivan
Jeremiah (Claude's)
Dr. Clay Schuyler
Dr. Lee Kean
Abigale
Maria
Nora
Beulah
Thomas Bates
Jeremiah (Pearse's)
Felix
Elena

These are what I have so far. I still need to scan Jessamine's current thread for more. We don't necessarily have to make sheets for every one of these characters, however for those that play a more prominent or recurring role in the story, such as Pearse's Indian and Moira, I'd like to have something. I've got part of a sheet done for one of my characters and I hope to have it finished sometime soon.

I was going to get started on mine earlier but it was a tad overwhelming. I still intend to at some near point in the future.

Also, Geoffrey States is a child that I introduced in H&H that will play a minor role, so he can be added to the list.

As it stands, I think I've listed all of the secondary characters that have come into play thus far (Including one who will be introduced in an upcoming post I'm working on). So far, two of these characters have been given character sheets, both of which were nicely done I might add. Since Ethan and I collectively are the creators of all but two of these characters (Enna Bates = Jessamine and Jeremiah = Claude), the two of us will try to get some of these sheets up over the course of the coming weeks. Currently, I have Moira's sheet finished, but since part of said sheet involves a particular event I haven't discussed yet, I'm withholding it until Claude and I have finished up our current thread. The last two characters on the list should have sheets up around the same time I post one for Moira. I'm going to update parts of Rosa's bio as events in the story unfold but I should have up the base sheet in the next few days.

Well, well...looks like a certain "king of the secondaries" still has a lot of work to do.

I fully intend to put up character sheets for Abigale and Enna Bates some time later this week. Maybe today, who knows? I might also go back and refine Laney's character sheet a little bit, as well as work on a couple of vignettes I have ideas for.

So, there's at least one character mentioned in passing that I plan to do some interesting things with, but that I haven't given a name to yet. I might go ahead and create a character sheet for him, too, and just leave him nameless for now. Any thoughts?

Whew.

EDIT: Jessamine, I think Thomas Bates is probably firmly yours. Pearse gave him a last name and I made him vomit, but he's married to one of your bicycle characters and it'll be easiest if you write him.

AKA

I just did nine character sheets and I really don't want to do another one.

Not to be outdone, I decided to start getting character sheets up as well. So far, all I have left are Thomas Bates and the last two whores in Jessamine's house. Be advised: there are only five whores, so make sure if you reference any...er...interactions with them, you don't name some whore that doesn't exist.

Gah, that sounds so mean.

I tried to leave each of you a semi-constructive comment buried in the mass of secondaries you dropped on the section. I would like to also observe that "Bates and States" was one of my worst oversights ever, but now that the names have been inaugurated, I vote that they be referred to each other side-by-side as often as possible.

I'm glad to see that so many secondary character sheets have been posted over the last few days. Kudos to Ethan and Jessamine for all their hard work. I'm sorry I'm lagging behind a bit on my end. Things have gotten a tad busier for me this week than I had expected. I'm going to try to have sheets for Rosa, Flora, Colette up sometime this week.

One other thing that I'd still like to do is figure out a way to divide "The Cast" section so one part features main characters while the other features secondary and minor characters. Right now it just seems a bit cluttered. If anyone has any suggestions on how we might go about doing this, I'm all ears.

Bates and States. Sigh.

At least Enna's middle name isn't Norma. But Thomas's could be Norman, who knows?

Good news is, I figured out a way to divide up the cast board. Right now primary and secondary characters have been moved into two different subcategories in the board. The bad news is, both of these subcategories still appear on the main page as well instead of just in the Cast board. Any suggestions?

I don't know if there's a way to separate a section into sub-sections. We might just have to be content with a "Primary Cast" and "Secondary Cast" section. Of course, we could likely archive and get rid of the screening section, since that will be taken care of in the administrative section from now on. That would at least keep the list from getting too long.
